This way they always ensure that they play against weaker players. Comment: (champerman) Yeah, that sucks. I've had that happen to me in when playing other teams too. One particular player on another team has beaten me 4 times while loosing to non team opponents playing really bad moves. I must say I don't pay attention to the games played by my "team". i answered this: Hello, champerman! according to this msg: (pasted msg's) i would like to know what you think about the team... since a while i was watching you how you resigned team matches in draw positions in the middlegame... now you agree to some other team member who is putting you down that we are cheaters??? are you with us, or against us? why do you say: "team"??? or am i just misunderstanding because of laking english? what does everyone else think? come on man, we all are pulling ourselfs appart, i for example timed out because of unforseen circumstanses and paied $200 to not to time out in my team games and have internet connection for a few hours, others lost and didn't come back or got thrown off the team because they resigned private games or timed out in their team games. i think that this team is doing as good as never before. players started to learn to have a 2nd and 3rd look at their games before they make their move and started playing their games to the end or tried to force a draw when they where behind. what about you "team mate" (according to your "team" msg's). are we "the others" or are you "with us"? please let us know... |

| Posted by kai_sim nikto.net 5/15/2004 21:10:38 Play online chess | Message: all right lordnguyenvo i made a note about it. i hope it doesn't effect your team matches. please don't forget to update your team games settings to 2 (zero still not available, thx to mike). to gain some time, you maybe would like to set flag for a week and note your moves onto the notepad and release them like in certain periodes. it will spread your games a bit more and give you more time. regarding drgandalf i noticed that he was allready up to 10 team games and it still showed him as available. i then personal msg him to confirm that he still wants more matches or not. he then wrote me very upset that he doesn't wish to have more than 4 team games and started to time out in the other games on purpose. i would like to point out that he failed to set his team games to 4, ignored to answer my repeated personal msg's before april 20th and after, didn't check out the team forum and as result he decided to time out in his team games and to work against the team, put me on his ignore list and blames me for his mistakes. so, drgandalf if you read this, i am willing to give you another chance, because in the past you where a very nice team mate (i even almost bought your book...), very good with your team matches and with a positive overall score on the team ranking. you are doing it the wrong way, i do not appreciate that you blame me and let it out on the team for your personal mistakes. if you decide to stay on the team, apologize and everything can be forgotten. i may reserve the right to put a pol before i decide. teams table: after weeks on the first place and down to 20, we where a few times back up in the top five. the longer we stay up with so many games we are playing and different players we have, the more i think that we actually deserve (!!!) place one forever. i think it's easy to get to place one with a few team games or players. also to just have the best of the best on the team. lords of the teams is different! we have players from all ratings on the team. we can match up easily with any other team. we play more games than any other team on GK within one month AND STILL STAY ON TOP a team like that makes the difference. most players work together as a team. some even teach others and give lessons over the internet chats. i would love to be able to bring us all into one town together, but because of our multi international countries we will never able to be. still, one stands up for the other! thats what counts! i'm happy to have my old friend sharpnova on the team. he moved to the usa and will help us to stay on top. i learned a lot from him and i am happy that he was able to gather so many team points in such a short amount of time. one of my ex-co-workers is a chess teacher and will do some titles in the closer future. he'll find out if he will have the time to support us and join or not. chic_luc improved a lot the last months. the way how he did it is, that he learned his openings and his endgame. i played a lot against him while we where neighbors and allways told him, that his middlegame is great, but his openings and endgames lack. to any player under 1600 i would suggest the same. get yourselfs some good opening books and watch your improvements fast! regarding the endgames, you'll then find out that you start your endgame with your first move in the game, and everything influences the final moves (i.e. pawnchains). zero team games/inactive list looks now as follows: iamian 1337 lordoftherings 1534 katrin 1704 chic_luc 1740 (will go back to quebec city soon and will not have time anymore) lordnguyenvo 1761 komei 1804 onlythemage 1864 pawnstar 1881 vulpes 1955 clems 2142 please inform me right away about any changes, or if you miss your name on the list. congrats to chees, he made it into the top veterans table a little while ago, clems and kai_sim may join him soon (if i'll get my old rating back *smille*) chic_luc and froden (him long time ago, sorry for not mentioning) got 100 team games finished, clems is close to hundret and v_glorioso12 got almost 200!!! starting summer i'll get my games down to less than 10. i'll be father again. our due date is december 22nd! so i'll be busy to fix things up. until then i would like to give captainship away and stick with the team. please post a little more into our forum (we are getting the service for free ;p). it's getting boring to read over and over from the same team mates again and again ;p how about you start to write how you are doing in your games, private live, or when you discovered a nice chess puzzle or new opening. successfull way against cheaters and so on...? i hope that you'll all keep up the good work! may the fellowship hold up against the powers of all other teams! best regards kai |

Message: good news are, we ended up with 1528 points, which is great. bad news are, we slipped down to place 2 anyways, because one of the 'underdogs' the UFC - Ultimate Fighting Chess Club just completed their 20th game and ended up with 1530 points. still, i am looking at it like a provisional result and it is still subject to change drasticaly within the next completed games, so watch and see and keep on winning games! good luck! kai |

| Posted by kai_sim nikto.net 6/05/2004 23:50:32 Play online chess | Message: oh well, frodan, to be honest i don't think it's a mistake, because if i wouldn't believe that if you couln't win a match, i wouldn't give it too you. if you don't want to play two team matches against the same player i would have to addmit: yes it would be a mistake, but again, i believe in you! the same thing happened with luc and he is winning 3 from the 4 as he said ( i think he'll win all 4 after i looked at them). sorry about that, but there are too many matches/players to compare if they have allready a match or not... good luck and as a leading team, it's very important to win any game because we will sometimes even lose points if we draw. to all others, please draw games when we are a few places further down. v_glorioso12 we all saw that coming, but again, with just 3 players, they don't play as many games as we do at the same time, which means that if they lose just one game, they will fall like 5-10 places. the team is doing great, we where never as good as before! just keep up the good work and we will stay on top! i'm not fighting for place number one (well, i do, but thats not the point at this time). i am looking at it as a long term investment. after we have the first teams hitting an 1800 rating the fluctuation of ratings will not be as high, and even a leading team as ours will be able to lose 2-5 games without switching places.
